Parenting Time Center

The Parenting Time Center (PTC) offers a safe and neutral environment where parents and children can build and maintain consistent and healthy relationships.  The PTC helps limit child exposure to parental conflict, violence, and other Adverse Childhood Experiences.

WHAT IS A SUPERVISED VISIT?

Supervised Visitation is contact between a non-custodial parent and children in the presence of a third person who is responsible for observing and ensuring the safety of those involved.

We provide a secure, neutral environment for children to build and maintain relationships with non-custodial parents. Our visit rooms are stocked with toys, games, and other activities. Supervised Visits are typically 1 or 2 hours long, depending on the ages and needs of the children.

WHAT IS A MONITORED EXCHANGE?

Monitored Exchange is the supervised transfer of children from one parent or guardian to the other. During a Monitored Exchange, parents enter the facility at separate entrances, then children are escorted by PTC staff from one parent to the other. This allows children to travel between households without direct contact between the two parents.

WHO CAN USE THE PTC?

Some families are self-referred and use the PTC to feel safe and comfortable during exchanges and visits. Many families are referred by the court, mediator, attorney, community agency or law enforcement. While a majority of our clients are parents of the child, we also provide services to grandparents or other family members.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF USING THE PTC?

Visitation and Exchange services allow parents to feel safe when carrying out a parenting plan. Our process helps reduce Protection Order violations, parental abduction, and conflict or violence between parents. Our services also provide an added level of documentation and scheduling consistency, which can help parents and courts address ongoing challenges to safe and healthy contact.

HOW DOES IT HELP THE KIDS?

Children get to maintain relationships with both parents without being exposed to inter-parental conflict, violence, or other adverse experiences.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Because the BrightHouse PTC is partially funded by state and local grants, we are able to provide services for a minimal fee. Hourly rates for supervised visits are calculated on a sliding scale based on the income and household size of the client.

Intake: $30 per case
Supervised Visitation: $14-$22 per hour
Monitored Exchange: $10 per exchange

Service fees may be paid by one parent, or split between two parents depending on how a court order is written, or depending on the terms of a mutual agreement.

HOW DO YOU SCHEDULE A VISIT OR EXCHANGE?

Call the PTC at 620.665.1471 or fill out the New Client Intake Form by following the link below.

For safety, each parent/guardian must schedule and complete a separate intake interview. During this process, we will collect necessary information, answer questions, and provide an orientation to our security process and expectations.

Visits or Exchanges will be scheduled after both intakes are completed.
